What is the Fleming Student Administrative Council?

A

The Fleming College Student Administrative Council is the official Student Government for Students at Fleming College Sutherland Campus and Cobourg Campus. Fleming S.A.C. represents and serves all Full Time Students at these campuses and advocates on behalf of the Student body.

What services does SAC provide?

A

  • Bursaries
    SAC provides bursaries annually to Fleming College Students. SAC sets aside part of its annual budget to fund these bursaries.
  • Club Services
    SAC provides funding to over 15 different clubs and organizations on campus, including social and academic interest groups, community service organizations and athletic pursuits.
  • Emergency Food Bank
    SAC operates an on-campus Emergency Food Bank for Fleming students and families in need.
  • Grad Photos
    SAC facilitates the Graduation Photo Sessions which are held twice in the Winter semester.
  • Health & Dental Plan
    As a full time student at Fleming College you are automatically covered with a comprehensive set of extended health and dental benefits.
  • Just Food Boxes
    SAC & the YWCA have partnered up to offer their healthy food box program to Fleming Students.  Every month students can purchase, for a subsidized price, a healthy box of food containing a wide variety of ingredients such as bread, rice, fresh fruit and vegetables and more!
  • Meeting Spaces
    SAC provides the use of its boardrooms to Fleming students and staff.
  • Phone, photocopy and fax services
    At the SAC offices students can use the phones, photocopy and fax machines from little to no cost.
  • Steele Centre
    The Steele center is a hub of student life on campus equipped with a; pub, table tennis pool tables, the Steele center offers Fleming Students with a place to relax and unwind. It also offers food services such as Pizza Pizza and Epic Burger.

How do I contact SAC

A

The S.A.C. operates out of Sutherland Campus at Fleming College. The Main Office is open Monday to Thursday, 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m and Friday, 8:30am to 4pm. To contact us, call 705-749-5530 ext. 1577 or flemingsac@flemingcollege.ca. The S.A.C. can also be found on Facebook, and Twitter.

How can I opt out of the student Health Plan coverage?

A

Opt out is completed online at www.wespeakstudent.com, once per academic year, during the term Health Plan fees are paid and prior to the applicable deadline
